Personally, i'd use something like 1.0.4-0.slink, so that it would be
replaced by the 'official' 1.0.4-1 if that were ever released, or if you
later went to potato.

Things like this are why i have a bunch of packages with versions like
pump version 0.7.1-1.00001 (modified to give the option to stop logging
~1K of debug information literally every 30 seconds to 3 different
logfiles, without disabling ALL debug level logging as suggested in the
manpage).
