Is it configured properly? If you don't know, i'd guess no. Check the
archives for a wealth of information on SB16 PnP cards.

The basic sound-playing device. Whenever a prog wants to play a sound, it
converts it into the proper format and writes the data to /dev/dsp.

  # cd /dev
  # ./MAKEDEV audio

I don't recall, this may or may not work if your kernel doesn't support
sound at all...
