Not if you just want stuff designed for Red Hat to simply install. You can
do as you say for a single package, maybe, but it is probably better to
simulate the RH non-standard environment if you will be installing more
than one package designed for Red Hat (the hat is red from blood caused by
one pulling all of one's hair out trying to make sense of their goofy
layout).
