I had the same problem with an Adaptec AIC-7850. Using older
debian-kernels (wich do not include newer versions of the
AIC7XXX-driver) like 2.0.33 (slink uses by default 2.0.36) I didn't have
this problem. Also the new 2.2.1 Kernel is working.
