No, just build an archive of the few packages you want for your local
site. I do it for a few packages I have disassembled, modified the default
configurations and rebuilt. When these packages are updated on the local
archive, the other machines can be updated from it. You just need to make
your own Packages file so that apt or dselect or dftp or whatever can see
what has changed.
