Hamm and slink are codenames given to the different versions. They are
taken from the movie Toy Story. hamm is Debian 2.0. It *was* the current
version until last week. slink is Debian 2.1, and is now the current
version. There are a bunch of differences (I don't know what the finer
details are) and one of them is that slink comes with something like
1000 more updated/fixed/revamped/new packages.
I placed an order for my 2.1 (slink) CDs a couple days ago, so I'm
eagerly awaiting them :)
