StarOffice troubles with 2.2.x

I recently switched to a 2.2.2 kernel. I also tried to install IP 
masquerading on 2.2.2, and later tried to remove it. Since then, 
StarOffice won't connect to my pop server, although Mutt will. Any 
ideas why?
