Make sure there's not a trailing slash in your FontPath entry in
XF86Config.  In other words, be sure it looks like "tcp/Join:7101"
rather than "tcp/Join/:7101" (I'm assuming that "Join" is the correct
hostname, and is definately reachable at the time).
