That works for making it less frequent, but doesn't turn it off. Here's how
to turn it off - in syslog.conf:
*.=info;*.=notice;*.=warn;\
auth,authpriv.none;\
cron,daemon.none;\
mail,mark.none,news.none;local2.none -/var/log/messages
^^^^^^^^^
This might need tweaking for your syslog.conf, but the basic idea is just
add "mark.none" to any lines for files that are getting the MARK messages in
them.
