Try the package at ftp://ftp.rising.com.au/pub/hamish
There are some problems with it (some are upstream). I will update
it to the most recent source asap (tomorrow I hope) which might help.
When it is stable I will upload it to debian.
Install libgdbmg1 and -dev and try that.
