Boot Disk Failures

I am having trouble with the boot disks from April. I boot up with the
rescue floppy
and it start up with the loading root....... etc.. Eventually it says
boot failed press and
key to try again. Are there problems with these disk2 and pentium2
boards.

I just bought a new motherboard, CPU, RAM, and scsi card. Here is the
information.

Mainboard: Abit LX6 pentiumII
CPU: pentiumII 233
RAM: 32M SDRAM
SCSI Card: Symbios PCI-SC875 (Former NCR board with similar name)

Has anyone got this configuration working? I presently have Win95 on a
primary
partition on the first disk 2G and want to install Debian on the second
disk.. I have been
running Debian for about 3 years now and have never seen this before.

Any help would be appreciated
