MIME Encoding

This may be covered in a Howto or a FAQ, if so please can you point me in the right direction.

There is a mimedecode package in the standard 1.3 installation CD.

Is there something to go the other way ?

I want to create an auto-reply program to attach a MIME encoded MS Word document to the message and reply.

I can do this with a simple text message, but would like to automate the attachment.
