But what if you want to keep your system secure with shadow passwords? A
better solution would be to download the source for kdm and compile it
with shadow password support...this won't even confuse dpkg/dselect,
because you simply replace the original kdm binary with the new one that
you built. If you ever use dpkg to remove KDE, it will not know the
difference between the binary that you built and the one that it installed
previously...
