Yes, you must know how to do that. :-)
Read the relevant HOWTOs and man pages. Documents you should read include
at least:
/usr/doc/HOWTO/Multi-Disk-HOWTO.gz
/usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/Software-RAID.gz
and the man pages in the raidtools package
