XEmacs can't find pathes

Hello,
  I am using XEmacs recently. I have found 2 problems, I think
they are bugs.
  The problems:
  1. GNUS try to find active file under /usr/lib/news, I think debian
installs active file under /var/lib/news.
  2. When I execute CVS with menu "Tool/VC/Update CVS Directory", XEmacs try
to find /usr/local/bin/cvs, which should /usr/bin/cvs.
  There is only a line in my .emacs file:
     (setq gnus-select-method '(nnspool ""))

  What can I do? Should I write a bug-report?
