Error message from dd
While making a set of 5-1/4" floppies to test installation of the
most recent disk set, I received the following message while writing
the sixth floppy in the series:
floppy0: timeout handler died: do fd request
Dd continued writing to the disk without interruption, and the
disk (base-3.bin) was read siccessfully in the installation.
The command used to write the disk was:
dd if=base-3.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 conv=sync ; sync
What caused that error message? Was it dangerous to ignore it
as I did?
Bob
