How to configure INN/suck

Hi All!

After getting used to Debian for over two months now (really great work...),
I want to install and configure INN and suck for off-line newsreading.
(I choosed INN, because the package description says:

"INN is Debian's preferred news transport system.")

But configuring INN is not easy... I have a got working ISP connection via
PPP here, and smail is doing a good job, so:

If a kind person could give a more or less step-by-step approach, how I can
get INN working, I would really appreciate it.

E.g. I get:

  flora# inews -h -D
  Newsgroups: local.test
  Subject: test

  test
Can't generate Message-ID, No such file or directory
  (Article not posted.)

and

  flora# get-news
  [...]
/etc/suck/sucknewsrc.news: No such file or directory
  [...]

BTW: I skimed over the INN FAQ, read the News-HOWTO (which actually didn't
told me anything :-( ) and tried the ISP-HOWTO (no INN, no suck).

Versions used:
suck 3.4.1-1 Small newsfeed from an NNTP server
  inn 1.5.1-1 News transport system
innfeed 0.9.2-1 This is the new INN feeder program (do I
                                 need this?)
  and trn
