Hi Oz,
I succeeded in installing the Debian (1.0 not 1.1 -which is still not released)
after several bad runs.
Here is my installation sequence:
1. Install base
2. install libc5
3. install ld.so now
4. install init
5. reboot now, after changing the root device of the boot disk to be your new
root partition with the debian stuff so far.
6. just continue installing
