If you are using a boot loader like lilo/syslinux that is simple: just pass
the '-b' switch to the kernel.

Eg:

  LILO: vmlinux -b
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
