Yes, development versions of dpkg (from ALPHA-TEST/...) support this.

Unfortunately recent development versions of dpkg have had a number of
bugs, soome oof them serious.  I'd recommend sticking with what you
have and simply running Access/Update/Install three times, unless
you're willing to help report bugs and to track the released dpkg
version more closely.
