No me arranca hald

Hola,

Investigando a ver por qué no me aparecían los dispositivos usb
extraíbles en media:/ /hablo de kde 3.4, por supuesto), vi que no
tenía corriendo el demonio hal.

Probé varias cosas, pero lo máximo que he podido averiguar es que al
hacer

$ dpkg-reconfigure hal

Me sale estos mensajes en /var/log/syslog:

He estado comparando todas las configuraciones (módulos incluidos) con
un odenador donde todo me funciona bien, pero no consigo dar con el
fallo.

¿Alguien me puede echar una mano?
