Unable to print PDFs on Debian 11, possibly since last CUPS update
The problem emerged yesterday when I wanted to print some PDFs which
were generated during online banking.
As mentioned in the subject, I use Debian 11. The printer is an all-in-
one Hewlett-Packard 4632e, purchased around Christmas 2014. HPLIP Is
not installed.
If additional information is required to look into the issue, please
tell me, I'm not quite familiar with the procedures.
However, as soon as I click on "Print", the print dialogue very briefly
appears, for about half a second or so, and with it the PDF closes and
I'm back in the content list of the respective folder.
This happens with every PDF, including those generated from an odt.
Pictures are printed without any fuzz.
The printer is recognized, ready, and accepting jobs, at least that's
what the print settings tell me.
I assume that it's a bug which was introduced with the latest CUPS
update some two weeks ago, since printing was flawless until then. I
have to say though that I hadn't printed much around that time, so my
assumption is mere guesswork.
Is this already a known issue and is there a remedy?
Much obliged for your attention.
