Was steht in der /etc/nsswitch.conf?

Sind die Gruppen mit "getent group" sichtbar?

Es gibt unter Debian 9 (mindestens) drei verschiedene Wege, die
Benutzerverwaltung an einen LDAP Server anzubinden, nämlich mit den
Paketen

p   libnss-ldap      - NSS module for using LDAP as a naming service
p   libnss-ldapd     - NSS module for using LDAP as a naming service
p   libnss-sss       - Nss library for the System Security Services Daemon

Du solltest erstmal schreiben, welches davon du verwendest. Davon hängt es
ab, welche Konfigurationsdateien verwendet werden.
