In Debian-User-German ist es auf Deutsch einfacher Antworten zu bekommen.
Eine spezielle Debian Datei ist mir nicht bekannt, bei mir funzt es aber ja auch.
Gibt die Susi nichts an Logs her und hast du lokal auch keine?

Logins are working (tested several times including password changes ) 
but groups are not transfered.
The command id doesn t show any groups.
Same quest build with an centos 7 client and checked with ans opensuse 
system is working as expected.
Can anyone give me a hint where to search?
nscd.conf and nslcd.conf are verified  with the working centos system.
Is there a special debian config file?
