Hallo Frank,
ich würde dir empfehlen zuerst diese "Software Install Tools" wieder
loszuwerden.
Und dann installiere dir mal 'printer-driver-brlaser', ganz normal aus dem
Debian-Repo.
Das sollte deinen Drucker unterstützen.
