lokale mails mit thunderbird

wenn ich per crontab eine Regel definiere, dann kann ich als Antwort auf
ein bestimmtes Ereigenis
eine Mail bekommen. Wie kann ich die mit Thnderbird abrufen, geht ja
glaub ich nicht per pop oder?
