Genau, das tut er.  Die Lösung ist eine separate .muttrc_cmd anzulegen,
dort

  send-hook '~t ^.*$' 'my_hdr From: Andreas Tille <my@email.de>'

reinzuschreiben und dann per

   mutt -F .muttrc_cmd ...

aufzurufen.

PS: Wenn sich jemand fragt, wozu ich das brauche:  Mich nervt es, wenn
Leute mir immer "Sent from my i*" Zeugs zusenden.  Ich filtere jetzt
auf diesen String und schicke via procmail den folgenden Text zurück:
