Du hast noch nie einen smart-Test laufen lassen.

Also, der Festplattenkontroller hat noch keine Probleme festgestellt und
gespeichert.
Allerdings liefen auch noch nie ausführlichere Selbsttests der Platte.

a) du kannst per Hand selbsttest durchführen lassen:
smartctl -t TEST /dev/sda
führt den Test "TEST" aus (siehe "man smartctl", es gibt "offline",
"short", "long", "conveyance", "select,N-M", ...)
Du solltest also mal ein "smartctl -t long /dev/sda" ausprobieren.
(WÄHREND der Test läuft ist dein System aber etwas langsamer, da
logischerweise die Festplatte nicht so schnell reagiert ;-))
b) du kannst smartctl regelmässig selber die Platte scannen lassen --
siehe /etc/default/smartmontools
Dieser "smartd"-Prozess fragt dann alle 30min die Platte, ob es Probleme
gab (also: macht keinen Test, sondern liest nur den aktuellen Zustand
aus), und protokolliert sie nach /var/log/messages oä.
