Es muß:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
oder
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so cheese
heißen, also ohne Leerzeichen um das "=". Meine Schuld.
