The role:
• Installation of Linux servers including: backup configuration,
monitoring configuration, remote light out configuration, project
documentation, installation of application
• Maintenance of Linux servers (e.g. OS-patch, Syslog review)
• Take care of server backups
• Assist customers to install their own applications
• Customer Communication
• 2nd and 3rd Level Support for Datacenter projects
• Analyze and solve problems with customer project and internal
infrastructure servers
• Manage 3rd party support if required
• Manage hardware replacement for broken parts
• Project management and customer communication in regards to the
implementation of new projects
• Regular 24x7 On-Call Support
• Support for Sales/Presales
• discuss and design projects
The person:
Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
Logical approach to problem solving.
Team player
Ability to manage projects
Self-directed, self-starting
Skills, knowledge and experience:
• 5 years operational experience with Linux /Unix servers (OS,
standard tools)
• Excellent knowledge of apache configuration and debugging
• Knowledge of standard Internet protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP
• Knowledge of standard server (HP), storage & network components
(HP, NetApp, Cisco), Firewalls (Checkpoint, ASA) and related
technologies
• Knowledge of monitoring applications and methods
• Optional (Knowledge of F5 Loadbalancer)
• Knowledge of standard office applications
• Knowledge of monitoring methods for applications
• Knowledge of cluster / high availability technologies
• Able to write complex system and user documentation.
