too many open files - apache- ulimit - init script

Ich habe folgende Meldung im Logfile des Apache2 unter lenny

[Thu Sep 03 18:22:24 2009] [warn] (24)Too many open files: mod_fcgid:
spawn process /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web31/php-fcgi-starter error
[Thu Sep 03 18:22:24 2009] [error] (24)Too many open files: mod_fcgid:
couldn't set child process attributes: /var/lib/apache2/fcgid/sock/21886.256

Ich wollte nun im init scrip folgenden Wert setzen:

ulimit -n 65535

Weiß jemeand wie man das hier einbringt? Ginbt es noch andere
Massnahmen, außer die Logs zusammenfassen/vhosts dezimieren?

#!/bin/sh -e
