Nachtrag:
8 bit-Modi machen unter KDE wenig Freude, aber mit der folgenden xorg.conf erreiche ich
1920x1092 (!) Punkte * 16bit , mehr geht mit der MGA Millennium mit ihren 4 MB leider nicht.
Dazu habe ich die Modeline, die Xorg bei der automatischen Erkennung der Monitormöglichkeiten
für 1920x1200 in sein Logfile schreibt, übernommen und lediglich die Höhe (vdisp) reduziert,
die Position aller Sync-Impulse habe ich exakt übernommen.
Der Monitor glaubt, er bekommt 1200 Zeilen und die letzten 100 oder so wären schwarz.
Geht prima!
