Wie äußert sich denn der Absturz? Landest du plötzlich auf einer
Textkonsole oder bleibt deine Anwendung stehen? Ist die Prozessorlast
in dem Moment, in dem X abstürzt, so hoch? Stürzt X nicht mehr ab, wenn
du häufig speicherst?

Steht etwas in deiner Xorg.0.log, was auf Treiberprobleme hindeuten
könnte?

    Danke für die Antwort.  Zu den Fragen:

       Ja, ich lande häufig auf eine Textkonsole - gelegentlich bleibt aber die Anwendung stehen, so dass diese (nicht X aber) neu gestartet werden muss.
       Wie hoch die Prozessorlast ist beim Abstürz weiß ich nicht - ich weiß nie, wann dieser kommt, manchmal einfach beim Schreiben, mit wenig Anwendungen, überraschend...
       Nein, häufiger Speichern scheint nichts zu nutzen.
       Meine bisherigen Kenntnisse lassen mich an de .log Datei nichts erkennen.  Ich kopiere hier unten die ersten Zeilen, für den Fall, dass du das etwas entdeckst
