bei mir:
ii  nasm           0.98.34-1      General-purpose x86 assembler

und transcode kompiliert einwandfrei. Hast du nach dem nasm Update
configure im transcode Verzeichnis neu aufgerufen? nasm 0.98.34 braucht
andere Flags als alten nasm Versionen. 
 
Falls du transcode / dvdrip nur benutzen willst, nimm die Binaries.
