Configuration du serveur X et Gnome sur la version 2.1

Bonjour.

J'essai de configurer le serveur X avec xf86config
avec un carte ati rage 128. Pouvez vous me dire
comment procéder ? Je suis allé sur le site xig pour
télécharger un driver et de suivre la procédure
d'installation. 
Je vous la communique:

How do I install this update?

  You need to be logged in as root to install this
update.

  For FreeBSD and Linux, do the following:

    download D4102.033.tar.gz and place in the
directory /usr/X11R6/lib/X11

    unix-prompt> cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
    unix-prompt> tar xvzf D4102.033.tar.gz
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/boards/.Xaccel.cache
    unix-prompt> rm
AcceleratedX/monitors/.Xaccel.cache

    at this point, you may wish to (re)run Xsetup
-text to
    (re)configure your graphics board/chipset and
monitor.

    Please start or re-start your X server for the
changes to take
    effect.

  For BSD/OS, SCO OpenServer, SCO UnixWare,
Solaris/X86, and
  SunSoft Interactive, do the following:

    download D4102.033.tar.Z

    BSD/OS users only:
      place D4102.033.tar.Z in the directory
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11
      unix-prompt> cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11

    SCO OpenServer and Sunsoft Interactive users only:
      place D4102.033.tar.Z in the directory
/usr/lib/X11
      unix-prompt> cd /usr/lib/X11

    SCO UNIXware users only:
      place D4102.033.tar.Z in the directory
/usr/X/lib
      unix-prompt> cd /usr/X/lib

    Sunsoft Solaris/x86 customers only:
      place D4102.033.tar.Z in the directory
/usr/openwin/lib
      unix-prompt> cd /usr/openwin/lib

    unix-prompt> uncompress D4102.033.tar.Z
    unix-prompt> tar xvf D4102.033.tar
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/boards/.Xaccel.cache
    unix-prompt> rm
AcceleratedX/monitors/.Xaccel.cache

    at this point, you may wish to (re)run Xsetup
-text to
    (re)configure your graphics board/chipset and
monitor.
