[Debian]:Seitennummerierung bei Manpages wegbekommen?

Hallo,

ich hab hier ein keines "Problem" mit der Darstellung von
Manpages. Beim Anzeigen ueber "man" (Pager is less) werden immer
Seitenumbrueche eingefuegt, also so etwas:

,----[ man man ]
|       The  command  or  function  illustration is a pattern that
|        should match all possible invocations. In some cases it is
|        advisable  to  illustrate several exclusive invocations as
| 
|                    Wed Feb 23 00:00:00 EET 2000                 1
| 
| man(1)                  Manual pager utils                 man(1)
| 
|        is shown in the SYNOPSIS section of this manual page.
| 
| EXAMPLES
|        man ls

Das ist ja schoen und gut wenn man die Seiten drucken will, doch beim
lesen am Bildschirm stoert es schon sehr. Wie bekomme ich es also hin
diese Seitenumbrueche wegzubekommen, damit das ganze ungefaehr so
aussieht:
