root = /dev/hdc1
stehen.

Falls Du sehr risikoscheu bist, halte ich Andreas' Idee für gut, statt
boot=/dev/hda dort einmal boot=/dev/fd0 einzutragen und so die Lilo
Konfigurations einmal auf einer Diskette zu testen.
