Ah, sure. I'd not spotted that detail of the packaging. Sorry for the confusion.
Upstreams source code of texlive-binaries did not change since March.
Since I've also shown that this bug is present in bookworm, I'll add the version of texlive-binaries from bookworm to the metadata to help future analysis see that this is not a more recent regression.
