Package: tex-common
Version: 6.05
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I installed hevea in an unstable chroot. That brought in tex-comon
amongst other things. The install failed, producing a fmtutil temp log
file:

Building format(s) --all.
This may take some time...
fmtutil failed. Output has been stored in
/tmp/fmtutil.f8jZR1xO
Please include this file if you report a bug.
dpkg: error processing package tex-common (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

The failing command seems to be:

fmtutil: running luatex -ini -jobname=luatex -progname=luatex
luatex.ini' ...

/var/lib/texmf/tex/generic/config/pdftexconfig.tex is attached.
Oddly, it does not seem to be owned by any package, according to dpkg -S

Attached are the apt output log, the fmtutil log and the
pdftexconfig.tex file. removing the
/var/lib/texmf/tex/generic/config/pdftexconfig.tex file did not help.
