reassign 798588 apt
thanks
Dear apt maintainers,
the bug here states that
apt-get install --reinstall --purge dpkg install-info
gives errors about
could not configure install-info, "probably due to a
depency cycle"
I tried this on my sid system and cannot reproduce it:
$ apt-get install --reinstall --purge dpkg install-info
...
Preparing to unpack .../archives/dpkg_1.18.4_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking dpkg (1.18.4) over (1.18.4) ...
Setting up dpkg (1.18.4) ...
Processing triggers for man-db (2.7.5-1) ...
(Reading database ... 527750 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack .../install-info_6.1.0.dfsg.1-5_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking install-info (6.1.0.dfsg.1-5) over (6.1.0.dfsg.1-5) ...
Processing triggers for man-db (2.7.5-1) ...
Setting up install-info (6.1.0.dfsg.1-5) ...
$
Also, looking at the dependencies I don't see that dpkg depends on
install-info, so I have no idea where this should come from.
Best
Norbert
