I have already reported this bug to the luaotfload maintainers and it
will be fixed sooner or later.

In the mean time, you can make sure that there are no files referenced
in ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf (or ~/.fonts.conf) with absolute
path. I had 
	...
	<include ignore_missing="yes">/home/norbert/.config/font-manager/conf.d</include>
	...
there and that breaks luaotfload.

It will hopefull be fixed with the next upload.
