I have run this script on all the fonts, and there were loads of
output about warnings, and at the end the font file size has changed
dramatically:

That is a *hell* of changes I do not plan to check for consistency
and correctness.

I didn't have time to contact upstream by now, but I will do it
as soon as possible and ask their opinion.

But just using the script you provided is not on the safe side for me.
