Hmmm, I don't remember that we created updmap.cfg ever there,
I mean by our scripts.

Could it be that you called update-updmap by hand as root at some point?

Do you know/can explain the history of the machine? What was installed,
when did you upgrade from what?

Without that, I guess we have no clue how it came into existence.
