Bug#604054: closed by Norbert Preining <preining@logic.at> (Closing old and upstream bugs)

Dear Jaakov,

in both cases these bugs concern *interaction* of packages.

THere is no guarantee that an arbitrary combination of packages
will work. Nobody *ever* stated that, nobody ever assured that.

If you want glossaries to work with hyperref, or the other way round,
you are free to contact the authors of the two packages and suggest
solutions.

Yes, I did *not* check whether the @bugs@ how you call them are still
present in TL2013 (Debian variant or original from TUG). But this
is irrelevant here. That is the reason why I asked you (and all the
other submitters) to check with current TeX Live packages in Debian.

I will in future close *all* bugs that are concerned with package
interactions straight away.

It is up to the user to get things *improved* if it does not
work in the way the user expects it. But that has nothing to do
with a bug database about Debian packaging.

Yeah, I know, other packages/maintainers might behave diferenty.
But other maintainers don't have to deal with about 150000 files
(wild guess) and their interaction.

You are free to reopen any bug you like, I will just tag them with
"wontfix" and "upupstream" and they will rot away in the BTS.

*I* want to use the BTS for things I *might* fix in the Debian
packages. Not for tracking things that nobody from the Debian side
will ever take a look at. THe just block the view.

Before the cleanup (which is btw not finished) looking at the BTS
was just -- oh holy s..., and going away - because if the signal to
noise ratio is below 0.01 I don't waste my time with it.

End of the line. You are free to manipulate bugs in a way you like,
like I am.

Have a nice evening

Norbert

Installation of TL 2013 from TUG takes with a decent mirror aobut
15min. Runing the test file 2min. Now that are resources you don't ahve,
but *I* should have it for 150++ bugs?

Norbert
