Bug#427009: original bug wasn't related to doxygen, rather to an existing journal's requirement



Just a FYI, this bug originated when I used a preamble mandated by an article submission guidelines in a journal back in 2007. I don't remember OTOH what the journal was, but I can try digging it up, or at least narrow it down to a small set. Doxygen had nothing to do with it, even though I use doxygen a lot (but not its latex backend, except for the formula generating engine...)

I agree that legacy styles shouldn't be used in new documents, but, e.g., in such circumstances as a journal or department's outdated guidelines, it's nice to have them working properly for compatibility. But I can certainly understand the approach of breaking things intentionally so that the users become aware of using outdated stuff. Still, I'd prefer a transitional state with a warning for those users who care about their log transcripts...
