Sorry for the delay in replying.
I'll upload new upstream release of latex-beamer package in a few
days, probably this Tuesday or Wednesday.
I have the will to maintain this package even now, but I don't have
enough time. So possibly I will hand over this to Debian TeX group in
the future.
