Bug#683204: install-info: Invalid direntry causes dir file corruption
Package: install-info
Version: 4.13a.dfsg.1-10
Severity: normal
Please see also #683201. An entry like this:
INFO-DIR-SECTION TeX
START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
* mf2pt1:: Produce PostScript Type 1 fonts from Metafont source
END-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
(note the double-colon where the filename should be) causes corruption
of the dir file (including unprintable binary data) when processed by
ginstall-info.
Instead, ginstall-info should detect the error, produce a message on
stderr and refuse to modify the dirfile.
