Package: tex-common
Version: 3.7
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
Installation,
"apt-get install tex-common "
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
AFTER I failed over and over again with normal installation, I tried to extract
the missing file (00tex.cnf) from the .deb file, and copy it to
/etc/texmf/hyphen.d/00tex.cnf
After that, installation promted that it's missing
* What was the outcome of this action?
No tex\LaTeX related stuff will work.
/etc/texmf/fmt.d/00tex.cnf
So I copied it from the .deb file. After that hack, the installation of tex-
common (and the rest of tex-live) succeded, but I was unable to compile .tex
files into postscript\ pdf, as for the lack of pdflatex.cnf, or somthing like
that.
Also, I tried to remove any tex-related package, delete /etc/texmf and install
again, and the problam is the same.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Succesfull installation
* The output:
root@phronena:~# sudo apt-get install tex-common
