Package: texlive-extra-utils
Version: 2009-7
Severity: wishlist

xindy, unlike most TeX/LaTeX-related programs, requires Common Lisp.
Debian's packaging of clisp has lots of debconf questions and is fairly
cumbersome to be just another anonymous dependency. I think it would be
more appropriate to make xindy a suggestion rather than a recommendation
of this package.

I guess you just missed the point. The submitter did not tell that
the would be a bug in texlive-extra-utils b/c of these many
questions. He was aware that they were caused by common lisp and
hence requested to drop the recommend (wishlist). Even if there would
be no questions the missing feature might be still there.

Anyway: texlive-extra-utils does not recommend xindy any more ->
versioned close (hope that works).
