Ahh, sorry. I didn't read the bug report to the end. I concentrated
on the first part, which spoke about input files:
<snip>
~ epstopdf --nogs < bidule.ps > /dev/null
[...]
!!! Error: Input filename missing
Whereas:
~ epstopdf --filter < bidule.ps > /dev/null
does not complain.
<snip>
Then the submitter spoke mostly about the output routine, which
confused me.
I'm glad to tell, that the epstopdf version on CTAN solves your
problem:
hille@sid:~ $ ./epstopdf.pl --nogs xdvibug.ps > zzz1.ps
hille@sid:~ $ ls -l zzz1.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 hille users 39984 Mar 30 19:00 zzz1.ps
hille@sid:~ $ ./epstopdf.pl --nogs xdvibug.ps |tail
%%EOF
%%EndDocument
@endspecial 1926 5255 a Fa(1)p eop end
%%Trailer
userdict /end-hook known{end-hook}if
%%EOF
grestore
<snip>
I tag your bug as fixed in upstream.
